Germs of the Week
News from the Nurse

Strep throat hits big at LBES.   8 documented cases in past 2 weeks.

Symptoms of strep throat may include fever, headache, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.  Tonsil area may be swollen, red and painful.  If your child has these symptoms, please consult your doctor as soon as possible.

There has been one case of documented influenza B this past week.

Seasonal allergies are continuing strong.  Congestion, headaches, watery eyes, sneezing, coughing and general tiredness are the name of the game.

Still, the absence rate due to illnesses remains low.

This rainy weather has put a “damper” on everyone.  Make sure your students wear their rain gear to stay dry.
